What about walking in and ordering a car? Does this work the same way, if its not a car on the lot they want to move...

7% is more the average APR. Mine is 6.9% for 72 months (purchased 4/05) and my friend has 6.99% (it's just around 7, but I'm not totally sure) for 72 months on his '08 Equinox Sport (purchased 2/08).

At the time of the purchases neither of us had 'excellent credit'. Just good.

I wouldn't accept an auto loan over 7.5%... Capitol One is current offering 6.44% on 66-72 months.

My hopes are. I know this could be a long shot but its all I can hope for at this time.
looking to buy 11-09-----3-10 I require A SS with AC,leather, 422 hp, 6 speed.
0 down,
Dealer pay tag title and tax,
No more than 30k
Payments not more than $500.00 per month.
If this is not possible I will buy a used C-5 Vette in the 25K range.

I can pay between $800-$900 a month but I am going to finance for 60 months just in case which equates to around $550-$600 a month. I plan on putting $5k down and getting the total loan amount to be $30k with hopefully a low 6% interest rate, I have mid 700 beacon.

Im planning on an SS/RS. I am going to put enough down to get my payment close to 500.00.

I'm paying 500.00 now for my car that will be paid off in December, so I shouldnt really notice a big hit or anything....

I'll know the terms, rate and length of loan. I got screwed on a new car before, I will never let that happen again

Has there been any leasing info out? Like residual values?

So if I see a lease and it says $2,000 down payment, $300 for 36months, I can negotiate and not pay any down payment? Dealers are screwing themselves by being so shady. I bet a lot more people would buy new cars if they weren't afraid of getting ripped off. I'm glad I can use my supplier discount so they don't waste my time playing games with me.

Let's say I have a supplier price and I walk into the dealership with it. I can either buy or lease at that price, correct? I don't have to put anything down if I don't want to? Do leases usually offer the same interest rates as purchases? If a car is advertised for 0% for 60 months I can lease it for the same interest rate for lets say 24 or 36 months?

USAA is offering 5.9% for 60 months right now. On top of that, I got 4.4% from them back in 2005.

My payment will likely jump dramatically. I'm only paying $278 now (thank you 0% for 6yrs!!!) and thanks to the credit market, I doubt anybody will be offering that anytime soon. Looking at around $500 for a base 1SS with 10k down for a 4yr loan. But we'll see.

Payments will not be much of an issue for me. I will be paying about half down and financing the rest. Then I will most likely pay double paymnts after that . Or I might do a shorter contract with higher payment but lower inerest rate.

Here is a link to a loan calculator: Make sure you correct the payments to 48 60 72 etc. as this calculator is pre-filled with a 100k home loan for 30 years... and everytime you change numbers, make sure you delet the "Payment Amount" or the #'s will be off...

CALCULATOR

Auto loans with national average: Add a zipcode and they narrow it down:
