I think it looks great. One thing that I really like about the Metallic Silver though is that the chrome pieces on the Camaro seem to match the metallic silver stripes a little better.

Ok guys, I checked out 4 different samples trying to find a "perfect" match to CGM stripes, two from AutoTrimDesign and two from RiderGraphix.
I like Rider's dark charcoal metallic the best. No, it's NOT a perfect match to CGM, close in shading, but darker, although it does have a lot of particles in it that reflect blue light just like CGM does.
ATD's 020 charcoal metallic is a close second. The shade of gray is also pretty close to CGM and not quite as dark as the dk. charcoal metallic, but it doesn't reflect blue wavelengths like the RiderGraphix's. I can easily see some choosing this over Rider's though, so you may want to look at both.
Rider's charcoal metallic is far off in the shade of gray, and ATD's light charcoal is way too light.

I just recieved the dark charcoal metallic from Avery. It's not an exact match but I don't think it will be noticable if it isn't right beside the original CGM.

I'm going to give it a try this weekend.

This is indeed an old thread, but I figured this would be a good place for my question. Do those of you that deal with vinyl for stripes have familiarity with some lighter shades of medium grey metallic? I want to do some custom stripes, but a few shades lighter than CGM. any idea on mfg and what color from them?

You can see some of the shades of grays below, but I would highly recommend getting the full color chart that has actual vinyl pieces as opposed to a picture on a monitor.

thanks for the info, autoguy. A related question- If i were to give you a GM color (or color code) could you tell me which would match best, or do you have to rely on holding the color swatch to the color to be matched/coordinated? I know what GM color I want to emulate, which is why I ask.

I have no way of cross referencing GM Color Codes. The best thing to do is get the color chart and pick the color you want.
