So I went to put on my new SLP spoiler tonight and mine had it. It looks really bad near my RS emblem

Here's what happened under the stock spoiler on my SS - just plain bad.
those really thin adhesive "washers" desintegrated, paint off down to metal. the foam just caught debris and contributed to more paint erosion - flippin spoiler. - Rrrrrrrr! Dammit GM! . |

Yes I know this thread is long since dead but,,,
Recently purchased a 2011 2SS/RS and there are chips on both sides of the trunk right near the spoiler as the TSB shows. Even though the bulletin came out a while ago, is GM still required to honor the TSB? Thanks.

Good ole threads never die, lol. I would print out the bulletin and take it over to the dealer, if you have any warranty time left, maybe they'll fix it at mo cost. If you take the spoiler off it'll be ugly under there, as you can see my post above #44. I ended up getting thicker 1/8" washers, and repainted over scraped areas. dealer has a washer kit for the repair. make sure the washers seal with something at contact with metal, you dont want water dripping in there. good luck with it.

I was in to my dealership in December for this and a blower motor issue. They told me to call the body shop for a repair estimate - and couldn't duplicate the blower motor. I'll be going back with the number in hand. Thanks!

Anyone know if this would still be possible to have it covered now?

I highly doubt it. Mine was pretty chewed up at only 3,000 miles when I pulled the original spoiler a few years ago. The factory hardware on one side was loose as well.
