thanks though... great idea... but the foam is the most expensive type of insulation.

I think the plan will be to do batting on the garage walls, then use foam to envelope the upstairs in. The downstairs will rarely be heated, so cheaper insulation will be sufficient, then the upstairs will be done with the good stuff.
WOW I had no idea it cost that much. I was thinking of doing that to my 2 car garage that is air conditioned and wanted it to be cooler in the summer. Hopefully my little 400 sq ft garage won't be too bad.

I looked into this too...we may use that for some parts,

but for our downstair walls.... 30x60 with 12ft ceilings it is cheaper just to buy the big rolls of the pink stuff and put it in.

I would love to use the blow in cellulose, it realy helps stiffen up the walls as well.

Heck, with your skills and knowledge, write the code and create the application... for any garage door with a remote opener

Hey Kyle just an FYI you can buy a Liftmaster Garage door opener then Download LiftMaster® Home Control and enjoy it on your iPhone, iPad or droid
I just called my father in law who is part owner in Chamberlien who holds liftmaster garage door openers and etc. And asked him if this goes for all of there openers he said most anything you would use for home use or commerical use will work with the AP

I know what I will be doing tomorrow lol

I have a detached 36x36 shop with 12 ft walls and high pitched ceilings and im using a jackshaft type opener therefore I dont have a opener hanging from the ceiling. Quiet as hell and lifts both Garage doors. it even works when the power is out.

The big thing is to make sure there is no yearly fee, this one still has a $15 dollar a year fee. Which isnt much, but why should I pay for software that requires no upkeep from anyone else. haha.

I do like those Jackshaft lifts though. I want to look into those more.

I'm buying one of these maybe two. Mine are broken because my son and daughter thought it would be a good idea to hang a punching bag in the center of a stick framed double garage and wail on it while the doors were in operation.

Both mine have been broken for a while. Anyone know much about how well these work?
