Radio Antenna on the Convertable

There were some negative comments about the design of the whip radio antenna shown on the early spy shots of the 2011 Convertible.

Here is the inside story out of Detroit.

I was bummed that they didn't offer a cassette player option. :(

The company who builds the Build-Your-Own function of the Chevy website messed up...... evidently.

i never notice it in my 71 monte... unless i take a picture through my windshield (5th gen camaros, funny plates/stickers, undercover cops, etc...)

i don't mind a whip antenna really... the bigger issue for me is the turd, er i mean third brake light. should have been in the spoiler, as the shark fin would look much better in the current third brake light spot. it just looks out of place in the middle of the trunk lid.

I think hiding the antenna in the spoiler is a great idea for the convertible. Although I agree there may be some issues when doing a mod on the spoiler. I don't think adding the third stop light in the spolier wouldv'e been a good idea though because all spoiler mods would then have to have a third stop light included.

Why can't they get rid of the XM shark fin and put it in the outside mirror like they do with the Vette?
