Question I need some inputs on the Basic 18" Heritage Wheels.

Fellas,

I have the basic 18" heritage wheels on my red Camaro. If you dont know what those look like they are black in the middle with a grey/silver lining. I wanna paint that silver part and make it red but its plastic. Does anybody know if I can buy that same plastic piece in red so I dont have to paint it? or should i just leave it alone?

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but ended up getting an LT instead so no Heritage wheels. I do not beleive you can buy the trim rings in colors, but I don't see any problem with painting them.

You can always get a sticker to cover it here look:

Check under
Wheel Center Emblems
They fit the wheels just got to center it, I have some but took it off because I'll get new rims soon, hopefully.

I have seen plenty of cars with that piece painted. you should have no problem with it.

I was considering doing this myself. I have a Summit White w black stripes and was thinking about painting the silver rings white. Saw a Porsche with a scheme like that and I really liked the look. Does the silver part pop off, or do you actually have to take the wheels off and tape everything off?

And im assuming you would sand with a real fine grit sandpaper, 3 coats of spray paint, and a spray w clear coat?

Trim ring removal

It comes off very easily, just like a hub cap. My car is silver ice so the trim ring already matches the car color and it is nice looking.
