Daytona 500 predictions

Well, I'll be heading to Daytona Friday to attend the 500.

Let's see who everyone is predicting as the winner;

Me, ANYBODY BUT JR.!!!!
I don't care for Jimmy Johnson either, and I hate Toyota being in NASCAR, but, I'll pull for them over Jr.

Reason; loooong story.

I'll wear my proudly and root for any driver in a Chevrolet, OTHER THAN JR.

In my mind, there'll never be any as good as The Intimidator.

It always seems drivers choose not to work with the strong contenders. So, I can see why you think it might be a "dark horse". I'd like to see a first time winner.

The best 500 I attended was the one Dale Sr. won. I've been going for at least 15 yrs., but this may be the last. I'm thinking of not renewing our tickets.

#88 for me...I firmly believe Sr. woulld be pulling for him!

After that, I would pull for any non-"Toyoduh" underdog. Boris Said would be cool!

I'll never ever pull for an import!

2 teams have dominated the superspeedways over the last few years: Hendrick and DEI. Jr was a big part of their success there, its in his blood. Now he's with Hendricks. Its hard for me to bet against him. As far as people not working with the top guys, that is true to an extent. However, most drivers would follow a hendrick driver before guys like Kurt and Kyle Bush. But if Gordon, Johnson, and Jr work together they won't need anyone else. The biggest issue is who gets the win.

I hope that JGR fails misserably this year. I don't like the notion of Company T in NASCAR. But since none of the cars that are being run have rear drive and only 1 comes with a V8, and they share next to nothing with production cars anymore, its not that big of a deal. I'm sure that in a race of stock Fusions, Camrys, Impalas and Avengers, the Chevy would win.

Only 1 more year till we see Camaro vs Challenger vs Mustang. Unless they scraped the idea for the nationwide series (formerly busch). I might watch that instead of the Sprint Cup, so long as the cars appear close to stock.

I don't recall saying that. Nor do I recall Jr. saying that.

My point was that, IMO, Dale Sr. was the greatest we'll ever see.

I don't know who the greatest driver in NASCAR is/was. All I know is that the top three in no particular order are The King, The Intimadator, and The Kid. I don't see anyone approaching their level for some time to come. To do a comparison between the three would be like comparing beer, whiskey, and wine. They can all get the same result, but how thats done is completely different. There will never be another Richard Petty, or Dale Earnhardt, or Jeff Gordon.

Moose, I envy the fact that you've gone to Daytona all these times. I've seen a couple races at MIS, but that surely can't compare to Daytona

I'm also pulling for Jimmy (3 peet baby) but I do predict 3 out of the 4 Hendricks cars will be involved in some kind accident. The 3 I dont want to finish the race are jr, Tony or Jeffy.

I stopped going to Daytona many years ago as you just miss to much of that race if your there. If you cant see the whole track I would much rather see it on TV. Don't get me wrong I loved the the times I spend at tracks, it is something everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime.

If you ever have the opportunity, I recommend Bristol (I've never been), Richmond (never been), Talladega, and Daytona. And if you're into visiting the raceshops, Charlotte can't be beat.

The Daytona 500 is something everyone should attend once in their life.

Bristol, Talledega, and Daytona are all at the top of my list. Richmond wouldnt be bad either but its not up there with the others in my mind.

Darrell Waltrip as an anouncer HAS GOT TO GO!!!

I'm sick of his "boogity, boogity, boogity" crap....grow up already.

And McReynolds is another moron.

Couple of idiots, trying to impress upon us that NASCAR is just as important and prominent as the NFL, but continue to talk like a couple of uneducated, language impaired, morons.
