keeping the 1le shifter knob?

Hey guys I'm thinking about changing the shifter on my future 1le
I have test drove a few and like the shape of the shifter knob but would like a shorter throw
Can most aftermarket shifters retain the 1le shifter knob?
Thanks for the help

I know the MGW shifter can retain the stock knob.

I have the MGW with suede OEM shift knob. Love it! MGW took a while to build shifter though. Was about a 3-4 week lead time.

Send a message via MSN to terry_b
Barton shifter also has an option for keeping the stock knob

If I'm not mistaken the 1LE/ZL1 shifter has a 22% throw reduction. The MGW shifter has a 33% reduction. But the big thing about the MGW is that it replaces the entire shifter body, not just the center shaft and the MGW also has spring assists to help with 2-3 upshifts.

You can really notice a throw reduction in the 3-4 shift.
