2014 1le car question about the black hood, has anyone messed with the hood

my buddy has a 2014 1le in white.. and we were wondering how is the black hood on there? looks like a its a vinyl on the hood. am i right? is there anyway to take the black off? i think the vent needs to stay black but the hood should be white.. has anyone messed with it and if so whats gotta be done? is there normal paint underneath the black?thanks..

Yup
Tell him to get on this site and research he will learn alot about his 1LE
And...
Why remove it - it helps make the 1LE a...1LE

Agreed. The black wrap is just... not interesting. Plan to take mine off this spring and replace it with stripes. Can't wait.

A 1LE is a 1LE. I don't need no stinking black hood to let other people know that's what it is.

As I have said before, I will not remove it, but if something happened to it, I do not know if I would replace it. That hood is so not a part of why I bought the car, I guess I have no thoughts on it.

I think it's really color specific. I really liked it on my black car. But I can see wanting to remove it on some colors, especially white. There is already tons of black and white contrast.
