Black ss side vent insert ideas?

What's a good idea for the side vents on a black camaro? I don't like the way the vents look really fake by themselves or with inserts. I really like the faded inserts, but I don't know how well they'd look on a black ss? Does anybody have any ideas?

Not sure if you are talking about the same thing or not, but I had these vents put in behind the front wheels. I debated on color and settled on black like the rest of the car. I had considered painting them gold but didn't want them to stand out that much.

Those look awesome! Are they the 3D Carbon vents? I was wrong with my wording though, I think I meant the gills, not vents. I have no idea what to do with them, but with nothing they're obviously fake looking.

I am having the same dilema as you my friend. Thought about maybe some silver vinyl graphics like these from big worm graphics. What do you think?
uh... pic wont upload, guess cuz I don't have permission but you can see their designs at their website they have a nice thin set of silver vinyl stripes that look good on black

Yes those are the 3D vents. It's one of my favorite mods.

I bought gold gills to match my gold hockey stripe but it just didn't look good. I seen a black Camaro w/ white body stripes and white gills and it looked really nice.

I inquired about actually having the gills cut out but the guy @ the body shop said he thought it would interfere with the rear brakes so I decided to just leave them alone.

I have the GM GFX on my black SS and it's kind of a dull silver which I think is a nice contrast across the bottom. I wanted to do something to the gills too but didn't want them to stand out too much. I ended up getting these grey semi-carbon fiber look vinyl insert stripes and I think they look good with the GFX, the GM satin nickel fuel door and polished wheels, etc. They're even more subtle in person than in these crappy pics and I also like that they sort of hint at being wire mesh.

Got them here. Select non-reflective carbon fiber as your color choice if you want the same ones.

I have been wanting to see a black camaro with matte black inserts. Been wanting to do it myself though didn't know how it would look.
