Questions about Dealership Delivery Handling

My Dealer contacted me to verify and go over my handling instructions for the car once it is delivered.

I have so far asked them to remove only the external protection and to leave all the internal plastics in place.

I have also asked them to not install the front plate (even though my state doesn't use on, I wanted to make sure they didn't).

I requested they not put any dealership badges on the car, and if they would like to advertise where I got it then I would be more than happy to carry some flyers and business cards in my glove box for a while.

Any other things you guys out there can think of I missed that is vitally important.

yea sounds good, i would have forgot dealer badges, but thats no big deal, u can just take it off after if they refuse for whatever reason

The last new car I bought had a crapload of tire black splattered on the wheels and surrounding wheel wells. A lot of sand had accumulated by the time I got home, but the tires still looked black.

Make sure your tires still have those little things sticking off them after they come off the production line.

Sounds like you have it covered though.

I really don't want them to wash it... Don't know if I can trust the, I actually specified that if they wanted to wash it I would prefer it being gentle and touch-less. I am going to Zaino it anyway.

Yea i'd be saying "NO" to washing it of any kind... i don't trust them at all... and will be taking it home for a nice soft cleaning and shine.. then tossing some 3m scotchguard protective paint film on.

I Believe they wash it to find any items that will result in a freight shipping claim or a warranty claim by you. Arrange to be there when it is washed and PDI. I Take pictures with the shipping protection on.

Just to be sure,
1.Check all fluid levels
2.Check tire pressures
3.Open the fuse box,check to make sure all fuses are seated (My 2006 HHR had fuses not seated causing intermittent electrical glitches)!!!
4. Do a test drive with the sound system OFF, listen for squeeks and rattles.
5. If yours has a spare tire,Make sure its fastned down,otherwise every bump you'll hear.
6.Go over every inch of paint and trim and look for shipping damage.
theres more but you get the idea!!!
