It's more fun.

It's more fun.

It's more fun.

Saved $1k and get to have more fun driving.

After the fact I am glad that I also have a more aggressive camshaft and more free flowing exhaust. I didn't notice on the 2 test drives I had before buying, but eventually I'd like to buy an even more aggressive cam and I'm glad I have the more aggressive of the 2 for now.

My wife can't drive it either so if her car is in the shop, then I'm the driver. It's fine because I love driving, but I wish my wife would want to learn because of the first 3 reasons.

Here's another take on this...because someone brought this up earlier.

Though we all support people that went and bought V6's, there's the ongoing issue of "Why didn't you get the V8". The V6 is still a Camaro, BUT...it's just not the V8.

To me, this car is an awesome muscle/sports car. I have an automatic...on my Impala. I rarely drive the Impala because...it's just more fun to drive the Camaro. In heavy traffic, I'm not thinking about the heavy traffic. I'm thinking about how cool my car sounds, and concentrating on my driving (which you should always be doing).

In a sense, I'm one with the car. This is something I believe you just don't get with an automatic...a disconnect with the car you love so much.

Look...there are some good things about the automatic for racing at the dragstrip. I've found that out over the last year in how inconsistent my R/T's are. But I really didn't buy the car to race at a dragstrip...I bought it for the open road, twisties, and mountain driving. That being said, some people want the automatic...and it's their choice.

I don't believe the following would be quite as fun with an automatic...

I love solid feel of jamming through the gears, the extra amount of control (skip shift eliminator!) and the the exhaust sound when engine braking. Plus it's easier for me not to speed. I test drove an auto and accidentally did 65 in a 30. Whoops. Also, I hate it when girlfriends try to hold hands in the car.

This one is easy :

# 1. The LS3
# 2. Way easier to stuff a cam in the LS3
# 3. Nicer to start with 426 HP
# 4. Way more fun to drive the M6

Wife and I both have manual cars and have been driving them for 20+ years. Wouldn't even consider owning an auto...even more so with modern muscle cars!

If you know how to drive one (not trying to start a fight here!)...then shifting and clutching as it's been called, is second nature to you! No different than putting your turn signal on! It's normal...it's nothing extra and is part of the drive.

Stop and go traffic I don't ever think of the clutch or anything...it's just not that hard! It's not hard at all...it's normal driving to me.

There are times when an auto is required I know...physical limitations, not available, etc...but if there is a manual option then I pick manual everytime!

Sorry...people who complain about "shifting and clutching" don't know how to drive a manual car or they wouldnt' say that! It's second nature, normal...you just do it because that's the way it's suppose to be!

My kids are like that...they have autos...and just can't understand how you can turn the wheel, hit a turn signal, push in the clutch, gas pedal and everything else...they say it's too much to do!! Uh no, neither of you now how to drive a manual car!

Tried to teach them...several times...some people have it, some don't and they don't! That's ok though...neither drive our cars!

Anyway...long post but my point being is if you complain about a manual, you must not know how to drive one properly because I wouldn't think of owning an automatic for anything! Where is the fun, the joy, hearing the engine rev and running up or down through the gears? Where is the sports car enthusiast in you? The history of sports car driving and the thrill of the ride?

IDK about everyone else, but manual cars are just the way a car, a muscle cars and sports cars are suppose to be driven!

Oh yeah...paddle shifters are not like a manual car! It's not even close! I know that'll make a few mad but I'll be the one who says it...little paddles on the steering wheel is not the same as driving a manual car!

Happy for those who like it...but not for me!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I got every option I got specifically so everyone and their mother on an internet forum could repetitively ask me why I got each and every option I got.
