So last year there were a few people that were nice enough to do brake fluid changes but didn't get to make it to the meet and great at Smoky Bones, can we avoid this issue this year?

I had my brakes flushed with dot4 and alignment set at the Chevy dealership down the street from the hotel when we arrived and they also put on the brake ducts for track use since we had a rental last year.

How much did it cost for them to put the brake ducts on if you dont mind me asking? And how long did it take? When did you have them taken back off? I assume it would be similar for the 6th gen SS ducts.

Let me get back to you, I will try and find my receipt from the dealership.

I got it done while I waited the evening we arrived and they just charged me the hourly rate (1), it was the first time they had done this particular install. I left them on the car. It was a brand new '17 1SS A8 rental.

Ah gotcha. I think I'll try to run it back over to them at the end of the track day to take them back off. Thanks for the info!

Passengers

Does anyone know the rules on bringing a passenger along? Just parade laps possibly is what I have heard? Any final ruling or decision on this?

I inquired a couple of weeks ago, and no passengers are permitted except for the parade laps. Ride along instructors are an exception.

You can do passengers at Beech Bend in AutoX. Must have helmet.

One thing to remember is that being a passenger on a hot lap may induce motion sickness. I've ridden with an instructor for a couple of sessions and it does test your sea legs. Just for reference, it is about like taking a crew boat for a couple of hours out to the OCSG (outer continental shelf gulf) in 8 foot seas. I have seen an instructor barf after a couple of session in a 911 GT3 RS (that was sickening all by itself).

LOL. I rode with my instructor last year in his car at NCM. He kept asking me over & over if I was alright. I was. I guess that is why. It was a blast though. Everyone was saying about him "that guy is stupid fast!". He was a great instructor. Hope I get him again this year.

He got fussed at for putting his hand out the window. Neither of us remembered him doing that. We later found out how he was caught; in my professional pics there was this:
