How does the HJC helmets run? I heard from a few people what you usually wear or what you measure for get a size lower is that true?

The hjc cl -16 is M2010 and runs about $90 shipped on Amazon. No idea about sizing. I found an SA2010 Zamp FSA-2 on Amazon for $150. Figured it is the way to go if I ever want to do any events rated higher.

Ours have the snell decal on them and have passed SCCA tech without issue. Being we only autocross at this time I haven't needed anything else. As far as sizing, they seem to be on the money for fitting just fine

You are correct I just double checked. Guess next year I'll step up to an sa rated for larger events.

Hey guys, I got my helmet in today. I just want to double check the fit. It fits snug on the crown, but loose around the cheeks and chin. It wobbles a little if I shake my head. Is this ok or do I need a size smaller? When I measured my head I was about 1/10 of an inch bigger than the XL so I got the XXL.

Good news guys! It's pay day so I'll be ordering my helmet tonight I'll post pics and reviews in a separate thread when it comes in. I'm considering buying some racers tape to protect against rock chips on the paint headlight as well as cone scuffs should I hit any cones or anything. Has anyone used this before? It's safe to put on paint right? Should I do anything specific when applying it?

I doubt you want anything as sticky as racer's tape.

Everybody I've ever seen who use any tape at all use blue painter's tape. I use that stuff to keep my numbers from getting blown off the car on road courses, but haven't used it otherwise. Been a bit lucky, I guess, only a couple of little chips (and a lot of 100 mph dead bug bits that come off with a little cleaner wax).

I ordered some along with my hjc ar-10ii helmet and a sparco t shirt lol. I'll let you guys know how it work . From what I gather it's suppose to see rial give u protection like a duct tape would however it doesn't have as aggressive adhesive as duct tape it's a semi adhesive that isn't suppose to leave residue or mess up your pant. It cones in a ton of colors. I ordered red we'll just have to wait and see. Has anyone else used it? Anyone from louisiana going to this autocross event at nola motorsports?
