CTS-V brakes vs. Brembo 6 piston upgrade brakes
After hearing about the Brembo 6 piston brake upgrade this morning, I've done a little reconsidering.
Can anyone explain the pros and cons between the CTS-V brake upgrade on a Camaro SS vs. the upgrade package that WSI is selling? The price difference isn't much, so I'm looking to see what exactly is different. The only difference I can see is the rotors come in the CTS-V pacakge. I'm still doing preliminary research so facts comparo is what I'm going for. Thanks! |

They're both 6 piston, is that right?
The CTS-V setup will give you larger diameter, thicker rotors, which will help with heat dissipation, they also don't have to work quite as hard. Pad selection will also make a BIG difference in either selection. If you're staying on the street, flip a coin. If you're planning on hitting twisty track hard, go with the CTS-V setup.

The CTS-V dual cast rotors are lighter than the OE SS rotors. Both can be replaced with true two piece rotors.

If I'm getting this correctly,
The rotors of the CTS-V are lighter... Both use monoblock calipers... pad selection will make the most difference... Did I get this right? |
