Decided to try these for the 1LE:

Potenza S007A

Not sure if they'll perform as well as the PS4, but for the price I'd figure I'd give it a shot. Have to have 200+ treadwear, so I'll report my findings here.

Subscribed. I’m currently using those on the wife’s / family sedan and am interested in how they perform on the ZL1 1LE. Have you run the PS4 for a direct comparison?

I've not. Finally getting around to changing the 3R's.

Also interested in the results of this. FWIW, I've always had good luck with the Bridgestone brand in the past on other performance cars. They certainly seem a cost effective choice for our ZLE's. I have almost 4k street-only miles on my 3R's now, and they seem to be a great warm weather tire. I like the GY 3R's far better in contrast to the way overpriced (IMO) Trefeo's that came on my '15 Z/28. For those of us who will never track our ZLE's, these tire comparisons are very welcome...

Keep us posted.

I refuse to ever purchase a Pirelli tire again. I had a stock set of P-Zero on my Mustang GT Track Pack. The tires MAYBE lasted 10k, with normal driving. No tracking, burnouts, etc, as I had a drag setup for all that good stuff.

I wrote them a letter and mailed it. I explained that the tires were not only poor performing, but I expected a little bit more life out of a stock tire. Granted, with the 1LE I can't have the same expectations, but they're probably good for 5-7k depending on the abuse.

Pirelli wrote me a letter back basically telling me to pound sand. Not even an understanding, let alone some sort of coupon or remedy, and hell not even a cool sticker!

So, I've been quite happy with the Goodyear, Hankook, and Continental brand so far.

This will be an interesting review.
My experience with Bridgestone is they are typically really good until they hit about the 50% worn area. Then you have difficulty balancing them.
I have to admit, my favourite is Michelin. They last, have great ride and handling properties and just flat out perform.

Mind you in saying that, myself,my dad, and my next door neighbour all bought Michelin Hydroplane tires for our daily’s.
They were without doubt THE worst tire we have ever bought. Without doubt. Any brand.....these were the worst and I don’t think my dad put 10000kms on his before he changed.

Still though all the other Michelin’s have always been awesome.

S007A compares more to the OE Tire than PS4 as tire rack lists it as a "Extreme Performance Summer"

You'll likely get more miles out of the PS4 though. The 007A being a more track focused tire should have better dry grip.

only review worth mentioning is the one from the Boss 302 Mustang:

"Updating my review after a track day at Buttonwillow.
These tires slightly exceeded my expectations on track.
Grip is not as high as 200TW tires (obviously) but they had enough grip to keep up with some fast cars on stickier tires and they were more consistent.
I was able to push them at 100+% for the entire duration of the 20 minute sessions without getting greasy, which is impressive on my heavy car.
As far as wear, overall it seems fine except for the outside edges of the ribs and the outer shoulders which are wearing a bit faster than the rest of the tire, but that's mostly my fault for not having enough negative camber. I'll have more camber to give them a fair test for my next track day.
Wet performance was also surprisingly good in the pouring rain on the way home from the track, no hydroplaning and impressive grip on very wet pavement."

I can send some Michelin Man and Mobil 1 stickers if it will make you feel better.

They look at a bit narrower spec-wise than the Michelin PS4's. Post some pics when you get them mounted.

I used a 280 tread wear Bridgestone pole position SO4's on my Cyclone, 275/40/18"s and was happy with dry grip. They wore fair for my twisty action, no track time on those. $ 196.00 a tire at the time.
