Wow, running from the cops in your brand new $35k car with no seatbelts on... Good job morons.

Sympathy for the families, no sympathy for these two idiots.

Certainly doesn't look like it would be comfortable! And you'd be trapped for sure, definitely not crawling out those side windows. If this car would catch fire with you stuck inside you'd be in some serious trouble.

So keep obeying the laws and keep the rubber side on the road at all times!!

Most likely they would have survived, just look at the driver door and the roofline, everything seems to be structurally intact. No way to tell about the passenger side though, but if we're talking about front seat occupants- chances are their seatbelts would have saved their lives.

Even if their judgment wouldnt have helped...

Even in that case, you are better off with seat belts. I was in a very bad crash in my LeBaron Coupe Turbo. Someone drove past & went to where I worked & told them I was dead from looking at the car. The front end broke off at the fire wall & burned. I was pinned in what was left of the passenger compartment for 45 min after EMS arrived, but the only major injury I had was a broken knee. There were not even air bags back then. The first thing EMS said to me was "good girl, you are wearing your seatbelt & you are alive". I would have been ejected & died without seatbelts.

Looks to me the crash was survivable if they were not ejected.

Just saw another news report that the driver was a 40 year old male and passenger was 48 year old female. Here's another pic.

You know I hate it when people kill themselves in an avoidable accident. But this was just a Darwin situation. I heard of a guy who ran a checkpoint (must have been DUI as he just bolted through the line and took off). A couple miles down the road he wrecks out (went off the ramp and went airborne). Killed two of the passengers and almost killed the other. I think one of survivors became a vegetable. They weren't even being chased, they just figured they'd run as fast as they could.

Stupid people.

they might have been camaro5 members? Their names are on the link posted...

I agree no one "deserves" to die, but they chose their path to the end of the line....

Very sad and I agree on everyone's view about wearing your seat belts.

I have a friend that just bought his SS camaro and he never wears them and refuses to ever wear one.. I just think I should forward this thread to him..
