Engine / Transmission flush?
Anyone ever use this?

You don't need it.
Synthetics won't "gum-up" like conventional motor oils. Actually, as long as people REGULARLY change their oil, conventional motor oils shouldn't "gum-up" either. As far as the transmission flush, it's only meant for automatics, not manuals. Total waste of money in my opinion.

For automatics if your a home fuild changer here is what works for me.
For my automatic transmission I dump the fluid in a nice big pan I bought at autozone. I crack all the nuts under the car about half way and then leave a few in there so I can tilt the pan slowly and let out the fluid. I then take off the pan all the way and find the magnet in the bottom of the pan. You will be amazed at the amount of metal it will catch. I once took the pan off and the metal made the magnet look twice the size. Anyway I pop off the filter in there and wipe everything down carefully with a non linting shop towel and reinstall the new filter. Now here is what I do differently they everyone else. I find a nice after market oversized tranmission pan with some cooling fins on it and a drain plug. ( Havent found one for the camaro yet but I am still looking ) I sung up my pan with a new gasket and tighten the bolts tight but not to tight. I refill the car with the the proper transfluid and run it for a day or so. That gives the old fluid that was stuck in the torque converter and other places a chance to mix with the new. I run the car back in my home shop and lift it up again. I drain out the fluid with my new transmission drain plug and then refill it once more. Yes it is a small waste of fluid but doing everything myself saves me enough money that I dont care. I drive hard and it return I like to change fluids more than most people. Having a drain plug really helps me. Dont get lazy though and skip taking off the pan every now and then cause your magent will need to be cleaned sometime. FILTERMAG sells some nice transmission magent you can put on your car or in the pan. So thats what I do and I hoped going off topic a bit helps someone. Keep in mind there are many ways to do something and the older I get the more stubborn I get on how I like to do things. The key is getting new fluid in there to replace the old. Wizzer |

If you change your oil and fluids on a regular bases, you don't need this.
