Mechanics - Dallas

Anyone on here or know anyone that is a mechanic that does side work. I have a 12 L99 and want to get a CAM installed. Still haven't decided what to get but need to see what my install options are first. Going to a local shop here is way over my budget.

$2k just for labor? You can probably do that. $2k for everything....not going to happen and if they did then you would be foolish to let someone touch your car for that cheap.

Having a cam installed is not something you want to skimp on nor just let anyone do. Just saying.

Sounds like you don't have the money to do a cam. You should either save up or do some other mods.

You already have the parts? Also assume you have headers/CAI already and are going to run stock stall and no UDP?

I have CAI, Headers, Catback, 2.45 Gears, tune right now.

Honestly, not sure what all is involved in the CAM install on the L99. V8s are new to me. I came from an STI.

As far as reputable shops go;

I've seen L99 cam install and parts combined range from 3k-4k. Without tranny upgrades (stall or cooler).

It can be done cheaper, but it'll need to be a shadetree mechanic. Also the above listed prices are total price including dyno time.
