LFX Calibration platforms

We're going to start writting in depth strategies for the LFX V6 engine line. For those that know me, I deep dive into the ECM for an effective calibration. From the couple Ive seen, not much has been done to the tune, so im going to kick the door in and let it breath. Please let me know if your interested and we'll have a little fun.

LFX calibrations

So this is to information you that can adjust the throttle sensitivity on the LFX like you can on the new LT1 corvette motors. Today's dyno was stock except for a CAI intake and 89 Octane. Run 93 octane, and I could have bumped it up to 280 RWHP through an automatic.

We really picked the ECM and TCM apart today, but very smooth through the RPM band.

So is this basically a tune that you do in house only?

How long do you need the car and how much? I would have to take a trip out there since I'm in the Miami area

This was my 2012 Camaro RS. And as all the other posts regarding Tampa tuning, Phil was great. Took about 2.5 hours and Phil explained everything that was going on. Throttle response is great and very smooth. Really kicks in on the higher RPMs. Chirped the tires getting on the interstate. Phil is worth the trip from Miami.

since this is a technical thread, I cant discuss price, but you can PM me for that. I want to explain what's happening with the LFXs. Remember your torque based like the new LT1 engines.

I can scale you throttle pedal to be more responsive, Obviously I can change your Main spark tables, I can adjust your fuel. So on the normal LS series cars, if you make all your torque tables maxed out, it wont like that and go into reduced power. The key is 20-40% adjustment.

What I noticed the difference is that when you go WOT, your blade isn't opening all the say until later in the power enrichment mode.....If its allow to get there.

We set up the transmission just like the V8s, because everyone loves our tranny tune. The more throttle you apply, the more interactive the transmission becomes. Id also say if you mostly use 89 octane, arrive you 93 octane in the tank so you can see what your power you can have, but we can also remove timing from your low Spark table for low grade fuel. just do the pull the fuse mod when you want to play with high octane fuel.

Enjoy,
Phil

I like to allow 3 hours for each car that I do. If you're on and off the rollers with just a couple pulls, you didn't get a custom calibration for your car. You got someone else's baseline in your car, and a couple WOT pulls. to make it work.

So have you been able to get the throttle blade to open completely during WOT? And if you have gotten it to open the blade 100% has there been power gains from it? I know there's a baffle directly behind the Throttle body and I have removed mine as noticed a slight gain in mid range to high rpm power.
