Of course all exhausts have decel popping, because THE ENGINE creates that sound. The stock mufflers just muffle that sound better because they are huge. The smaller the mufflers, the less they mask the sounds the engine produces. So yes, obviously ALL aftermarket exhausts with smaller mufflers will increase all exhaust noise, including decel popping.

just got my GHL installed. Looks and sounds incredible. The only issue i was told by the installer is that the clamps were crap and were stripping out. They replaced the hardware and all is good. I have had a Corsa and Borla on previous vehicles, and the fit and finish are as good as any. For the price, you can't pass on it. Even with clamps that weren't great, you can't beat this exhaust!

Rather than selling your exhaust, try shifting into neutral more often. This is how I mitigate the amount of decel pop.....just a thought since you like the sound of your exhaust, and also got a killer deal to boot! Good luck! M |

I've been driving around in my SS now for about a week w/ the GHL catback. No doubt a beautiful system to look at. The sound is what I was hoping for: not incredibly loud, but much more noticeable than stock.
I echo what others commented on regarding the clamps/bolts. With the money saved from buying this system at it's current price, I'd spring for a better set of hardware. Stainless bolts can be hard to work w/ in general, so make sure to keep them lubed while working w/ them. I also had difficulty w/ the passenger side muffler hanger(s). One of them was welded or cut a little short perhaps, causing the exhaust tip to sit up against the rear valance on the top end of the exhaust tip opening. I had to procure longer rubber isolators for that side, which got it to line up inside the valance opening perfectly. |
