I'm just following along with this... interested to see how the first tuned Camaro does up against the new Smog tech in Cali since I too might just fall under this category, but hopefully with 2 years to figure out / be figured out how to get around going back to stock.

Don't all cars vary slightly for calibrations? so basic air/fuel and timing would be hard to detect. Also don't our newer cars make basic adjustments based on how the computer sees it running? Interested to see first car go through new obdII in cali. From looking around web basic tune does not seem to be detected in other states.

Shouldn't be 2 years left. You get 6 model years old until smog starts.

REPORTS OF TUNED CA RESIDENTS PASSING OBDII SMOG!!!

http://ls1tech.com/forums/western-me...-thread-6.html

Here is an interesting thread on LS1 tech, the first successful stories of anyone passing the new CA smog with custom tunes (jump to page 6). I dont think it will be as bad as we think.

GOOD NEWS?!?!?

I have a "smog" tune and was told as long as the readiness codes all showed working would be fine. No cam or anything just whats in the sig. Will have to put the stock air box and cats back on is all.
