okay I am thinking i am down with this... if my devious can hit 113 in a quarter mile straight out the gate and chase 8's down a half mile straight only 2 seconds behind, she can surely handle her own against the new 6 engine!

It was great meeting you Diane. You were really tearing up the pavement at both Pony Wars and Steeda...

...and you were tearing up that Vanilla Vodka a little too.

Hope you had a great time. I know we did.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

He he.....Nice to meet you too! Hope y'all enjoyed the Smokin' Pig. They do have good food, pretty good service, quick turn around getting the food to the table. Ate there when we passed through on the Hot Rod Power Tour.

Steeda passes were the most fun.......Dexter was a good coach!

Looking forward to seeing your car at some point.....I'm close to Florida

No slips.. we were running Roebling raceway ( a little over 2 mile track) in Savannah last month with MTI. Had a blast down there. Ask Blackhawk6, cruznss, ordieman or topthrill how fast they were all running.... my hub was driving and said he saw 122 as his fastest on the half mile straight. Last year we went to Taladega Motor sport track with MTI ( its a 1.4 mile track.. neither track is oval mind you) and best time around the track was 1m20s.. which was also 2 seconds behind a couple of 8's times. Only mod then was a airraid cai and the exhaust. The lowering springs helped alot in the corners! I am going to guess its all on the driver as well.

Oh ok.....on the curves this car can definitely keep up with the 8s, I just want to temper your expectations for the 1/4 straights.

Thing about road track racing is that, you are already rolling and you are already revving your engine at high RPMs. So you are going to pick up a lot of speed quickly, especially if you are taking those turns better than the next guy. Essentially it's driver speed that usually makes up the difference.

On a 1/4 you will be getting a start from stand still. That means if you are an automatic you are gonna be brake standing at 2200 rpms or so and then launching as that light hits green. In a manual you gotta make sure you get your shifts done correctly and at proper timing.

Don't be surprised if you top out at 98 mph at the 1/4. My fastest time has been a 13.9 and that was at 97.75 mph. Without a turbo or nitrous package, I don't think I have seen one v6 hit higher than 99 on the 1/4 mile.

Yea forgot about that one..........

But you raise a good point too..........weather conditions affect drag racing so much more than other race types. That's why I do a few runs and start comparing my times relative to stock v6s running out there.

I am hoping the DA won't be too harsh next year in Indy. Either way it will be a hell of a time.
