Out here in rural Texas, most folks wave at each other. It doesn't matter what kind of car you're driving, it's more about being good neighbors than being a part of some sort of impromptu car club.

Having other generation camaros I tend to wave at them all, not just 5th-gens. I guess I appreciate them all and see the progress involved when climbing from one to another but don't think I'm better than any other out on the road. Just happy to have another. I don't let it worry me if they wave back or not.

This is a little off topic-- and, maybe it's because the Auto Show is here in town, but since Thursday, I've had 5 people point, wave and come up to me about the car.. Two were in high end Mercedes/BMW vehicles on the expressway. One was at Bakers Square last night. One was another Camaro and another was on a side street.

The one at Bakers square made me almost tear up.. I heard something to the effect of "You guys have to come see this. There's a beautiful Camaro sitting right up front" -- I offered to let them sit the car. They politely declined, but thanked me for the offer. While outside, I could see them walking around the car and looking inside.

I wave/Flash the lights everytime. I get a response about 50% of the time. Just waived to a sweet red and black SS yesterday.

I always wave. Sometimes I get a wave back. Rolled by a 5th Gen yesterday new with paper tags and waved, she barely passed a glance. I don't want to be your friend it's a Camaro thing. Just be cool B**

I usually either give a quick wave or just flash the high beams on and off, and usually i get the same back, but occasionally i get those that dont wave..

i stopped waving as well, but you want to hear something interesting? My camaro has been in the body shop for the last three weeks and i have a dodge challenger rental..everytime another challenger passes me i get a wave or a thumbs up.....never got that in the camaro.....so i will go with the theory that some camaro owners are stuck up or too stupid to see their surroundings enough to see other camaros because they think they are the only ones allowed to have one.

There's only 6 other Challengers out there,

so you got all of them to wave to ya...
