He got in contact with me over Camaro5 forum and that's how we got to talk over phone.

I don't believe it is my place to tell his story or say anything unless he wants to say it. Gotta respect him, and if he wants to explain everything, I am sure he will.

Honestly, if you care enough, and assuming they charged him with felony he should either have a lawyer or be assigned a public defendent, either of which should be public record. I'm not sure how long it would take for them to assign one though.

This guy called it about the officer potentially being pissed - it was a good warning. Glad that in the end he did eventually apologize.

But moving forward as its done and done. As I just read the entire thread top to bottom, lol.

And thank you Mr Sarge. Sometimes all you see is guys battling on these forums for the wrong reasons...here was a good battle on your part!

Glad you didnt give up. I think I wouldve as I worry about LEO repercussions.

Sarge...

Damn fine job on all fronts for many reasons. Not too many people would ever go above, beyond and further to clear someone's name. Considering I live 10 minutes south of where that happened, I can say that stretch of 94 between 275 and Schaefer is notorious. Every time I pass through there, Taylor PD, Allen Park PD or the State Police are posted in the medians.

Stop by sometime and have dinner and a few beers.

I have no pity for cops who make these type of grave mistakes. This is not a small oops type of mistake.

I was once pulled over in some small town in Florida, by 5+ cop cars, guns pulled out, they thought I was the hooker murderer they were after.

Long story short, I was let go after a few hours, after they realized they mistook my Porsche 944 Turbo for a Mazda RX7, evidently, as I pulled out of a restaurant drive-thru.

A few hours later, I was somewhat let go(not officially) free, after one cop came up to me, and whispered to my ear, "just leave, just leave" while the rest of them were huddling and were debating something....He was the one who revealed to me the Mazda mixup btw. I asked this question a few seconds before I raaaaaaaaaaan per his instruction.

You_cannot_make_this_stuff_up.

I tip my hat off to that honest cop.

Major FAIL to the rest of the team.

And a Major FAIL to the cop pulling over the wrong Dodge Challenger and potentially ruining someone's life, but thanks to Sarge on here, all ends well.

This thread brought back bad

Typical nutjob Michigan driver, this is why I'm extra careful on our freeways. This lunatic flew by where merging lane is approaching, fortunately a tragedy was avoided. Was going to say the driver in the challenger was an idiot but now realised he got away with it. You don't see that often.

Sucks for the guy who was mistaken as driver, he was probably held at gun point and now facing harsh charges. Good luck getting him help. Nice catch with the dashcam, these can be very useful at times.

Nice edm music btw.
