LSX Challenge Race Classes

LSX Challenge Race Classes for All LS-Powered Vehicles

There are lots of race classes for LS performance enthusiasts to choose from at the Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series that will run as a part of the NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals event at Bradenton Motorsports Park the weekend of March 15-18, 2012. 5th Gen Camaros, 4th Gen Camaros & Firebirds, Corvettes, GTOs, Cadillacs, G8s and trucks/SUVs…we have race classes for everyone!

BONUS – All LSX Rumble and 5th Gen Camaro class racers will be allowed to race in NMCA True Street on Saturday FREE of charge…race 2 classes for the price of 1!

LSX Race Classes at the NMCA Bradenton, Florida Event:

 Nitto Tire 5th Gen Camaro Challenge Presented by Camaro Performers Magazine – This class is open to all 5th Gen Camaro owners who want to race their modern hot rods at a national event. With easy to follow, open index-style rules, the 5th Gen Camaro Challenge welcomes new Camaros of all levels of performance to battle it out for the grand prize! All 5th Gen Camaro Shootout class racers can have a free entry into Saturday’s NMCA True Street class. $800 to Win + Contingency + Plaque + Magazine Coverage.

 Proform LSX Rumble (Index) – This class is open to everyone and every combination, including LS powered non-GM bodied vehicles. LSX Rumble’s index-style rules make it the most popular class in the LSX Challenge Series. All Rumble class competitors may compete for no additional charge in Saturday’s NMCA True Street class. $800 to Win + Contingency + Plaque + Magazine Coverage.

 TREMEC True Street – The name says it…this class is for “true” street cars. Take your licensed, insured vehicle on a 30-mile, police-escorted cruise and then make 3 back-to-back passes down the track. The closest average to 9,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 seconds all win money and an award! This class runs on Saturday of the event. All LSX Rumble and 5th Gen. Camaro Shootout class racers can have a free entry into True Street. This class is also open to LS powered non-GM bodied vehicles. $250 to Win + 6’ Trophy + Magazine Coverage.

 JE Pistons LSX Drag Radial – The LSX Challenge Series’ fastest class, Drag Radial features 8-second turbocharged, supercharged, or nitrous-equipped LS monsters running 8-second passes on drag radial tires! $2,000 to Win + Contingency + Plaque + Magazine Coverage.

 ERL Performance LSX All Motor – No boost needed here! This engine builders class features naturally aspirated late-model GM vehicles getting it done all-motor style. $1,500 to Win + Contingency + Plaque + Magazine Coverage.

 Holley EFI LSX Real Street - Real Street is a newer class added to the LSX Challenge Series in 2011. With strong demand for a real-world, single power-adder class, the NMCA answered with a category that produces some of the best wheels-up action at the event. $1,000 to Win + Contingency + Plaque + Magazine Coverage.

For more information, specific class rules & purses, car show questions, event information, ticket pricing, vendor space, and hotel arrangements, log on to www.nmcadigital.com/lsx or call 714-444-2426.

Free True Street Entry
For All LSX Rumble and 5th Gen Camaro Class Racers
…The Ultimate Street Car Class for the Beginner or Seasoned Racer
NMCA now gives you a BIG reason to race in in our LSX Rumble or 5th Gen Camaro Challenge classes…a free entry into Saturday’s TREMEC True Street class! Whether it’s your first time racing or you have lots of ¼ mile experience, True Street is your class. True Street is designed for “true” street cars that are licensed, insured and capable of driving a good distance on the street. After a 30-mile escorted cruise, make 3 back-to-back passes and see if you will take home some cash and a prize!

Here’s How True Street Works:

1. Purchase your LSX Rumble or 5th Gen Camaro race entry at the racer gate and then park in the pit area. True Street is a Saturday race but you can purchase your entry on Friday as well.
2. You first register at the NMCA registration trailer and then proceed to LSX tech to have your vehicle inspected.
3. You will get a time run prior to the True Street competition so you can see how your car is performing.
4. Attend the 11:30 am True Street meeting where an NMCA WEST official will explain how everything works. There is lots of time for questions and answers.
5. Following the meeting you will head out on a 30-mile escorted cruise around town or the facility….and it’s OK to take passengers to enjoy the fun!
6. After the cruise there will be a brief cool-down period and then you hit the track.
7. True Street will be called to the lanes and you will make 3 back-to-back passes down the track. Reaction time does not matter so just take off after you get the green light.
8. There will be a True Street Awards Ceremony a couple of hours following the race. NMCA WEST will average everyone’s 3 passes and the closest averages to 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, & 15 seconds will each win $100 cash, an award, and your picture in Fastest Street Car Magazine! The overall runner-up will also receive $100 and an award and the overall winner will receive $250, a 6’ trophy, and a large size photo in Fastest Street Car!

At the LSX Finals in Indy last year there was an 83 year old guy who broke a new record at over 230+ mph in the 6 secon 1/4 mile. Pretty freaking impressive.
