The Michelin worldwide backorder is worse than the Nitto Invo crisis that happened a few weeks ago (which has been resolved if nobody else saw my post, we have them now). I've never had a severe Michelin Super Sport depletion like this, but it is effecting a huge majority of Michelin sizes 275 and above including 285, 295, and 315 sizes both in 20" and 19" as well.

Sorry to say but a lot of those are completely out of stock and my account manager at Michelin doesn't even know when they will be getting more. I don't want to start rumors but it's probably a factory/production issue since we cannot be replenished in the quantities we require. We usually have between 150-250 Michelins at any given time during the year but now we're under 100 which is very odd, and that's primarily because of the delays too. Sorry to burst your bubble but you wont get those tires anytime soon :(

I saw a guy at limerock run Ferrari 's 295s allround a few years back on BBS CHRs 20x10.5". I may run 295-30 20 all round in the near future.

I've got a set of Nitto NT01's on the MRR Zed replicas. These are treadwear 100 rated and stick very well. 285/315 F/R.

What 295 tires did you run? Only Michelin pss in 295 are the Ferrari k1 and I figure they run pretty wide.

To have a chance of getting these anytime soon it would be 295 k1 Ferrari in front and 315 k2 Ferrari in rear.

Rear I'm not concerned. Its front.

295s come in 3 versions. 'K1 XL'(extra load and widest), 'K1 SL', and 'NO' porsche.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ot+Super+Sport

I've seen a K1 SL on 20x11 and it looks more stretched than the XL. on 20x11.5. These are on rear wheels. There's an old post by Whiteside(?) that compared 295/35 K1 XL to invo 315/35. Wouldn't mind seeing the K1 SL or Porsche mounted on 20x10. 10.5" would be better if racing.

my 02 cents: PSS 295's rubbed on the fronts of 1LE at Laguna AND MORE IMPORTANT, these are the worst track tires ever! I am very aggressive and after 1 session, off they came. They get so greasy when pushed, it is crazy....NEVER AGAIN.

My theory, cause I read it or heard it somewhere, is that when the tire height difference is that great the front and rear tires rotate at different speeds and it confuses StabiliTrak. It happened to me when I went with a 275/40/20 front and 285/35/20 rear at first service StabiliTrak came one. Then I would step on the gas and the car felt like it was struggling and the traction control light came on. I turned it on and off a few times and that seemed to have fixed the problem. If I'm wrong someone can chime in and correct me.

If you use them for track purposes they might last 2 maybe 3 track days, but on the streets I get varied results depending on power, but usually between 10,000-15,000 from what I've seen.

Also stabilitrack has no issues with 285/35 and 315/35 combination. The variance is close enough. Plenty of people run that setup.
I actually run a much narrower tire on the front because I was worried about that issue.

I run 245/45/20 on the front.

a group member here in SoCal has RS3s and has a couple of track days, 14 autocross days and 7000 miles. Good wear for autocross, do t know about track days only
