ZL1 Automatics?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I saw an automatic ZL1 the other day. Didn't know they made them or why. ZL1's, like 'vettes, Ferrari's and Lambo's should always be sticks. Agree? p.s. I only have an SS but it's a stick. Performace car= Manual transmission.

A zl1 auto is quicker at 0-60 and the 1/4 than a manual. ref GM dealer brochures. Not getting into a A vs M debate

Then why'd you reply? SS, fine, get whatever tranny you want. Top of the line though?

Sure because you said so. Auto is faster on the strip and the auto in the zl1 is tough (not the same as the one in the ss)

Debate the auto vrs standard all you want. I would love to race you on strip or roadcourse with one hand in my auto ss

The speed of the manual ZL1 varies based on the skill of the driver. I'm sure there are manual drivers out there who could beat automatic drivers.

I've been lucky enough to have driven both. Even my '11 2SSRS has gears....
The ZL1 auto is quicker than and flawless. If I buy a new ZL1, it will be the auto.

Anyone want a 2800 mile 2SSRS?

Does the '69 have a M22 or Turbo 400? What do you wish it had?

Why do guys that drive stick cars feel the need to be superior? When they show up
at the drag strip they look like a fish out of water.

Like I said, if you have an SS, fine, I don't have a problem with you getting an automatic. I'm not saying sticks are the shit. But when you opt for 580 HP, it changes the game a little. Now you're talking race car not daily driver so much.
