Door sill question

I have read various post regarding door sills and was wondering if the GM version is just a decal or a strip of metal and how durable it is. thanks.

Mine was delivered today and they are not metal as the whole strip bends easily.

It still looks pretty durable. I don't think I'm ever going to need to change them out.

Mine as in the picture are stickers and have had rolled edges since it was new. I have just ordered the black SS/RS metal sill plates from Late Model Restoration.

They're gorgeous. I love them, first thing I added. Adds a great touch to the car. A durable attachment. Not just a decal.

So if I understand, it is not metal and not a decal so how would you describe it? I'm really confused.

A thick plastic with an adhesive rear side. It's not a paper thin decal. It has depth to it.

I just pulled mine off and they are very thin stickers. The back is rubberized and the front is like a heavy foil.
