You end up with a flutter in the throttle blade, which saps power. Moreover, once the PCM sees the actual throttle blade start to deviate from it's commanded position more than a few percent it will go into limp mode, throw a code, and basically be undriveable till you restart the engine. I could actually see the boost fall off (fluttering blade) right before it would trip the code.

Owner switched to a NW102Boost and so far so good. So, from what I have gathered, if you're gonna spend the money, spend it once and spend it right. Just something to think about.

Yeah I wasnt sure how they act on a pd never did much research on the topic or the tsp t body for that fact.
But couldnt agree more on spend it once I'm to poor to be cheap

I know you have a problem with him cause he wouldn't tune your car on E85. besides that what's the wrong with going to him? He tuned my car 3 times already and I'v been happy.

How's the trans shift and driveability? Mine was crap. Like I've said I didn't know what I was missing until I had more than 3 pulls in a tune.

mine always drove fine. He did 6-7 pulls on the dyno. Who tunes your car? Not many options around.

That's good man. I'm glad yours is running well and hope you enjoy it! I go to New Age Hotrods now. Nothing really against Mike or Frumusa, but the tuning and service I get now is amazing. My car took a second off the 1/4 mile and doesn't surge or buck. The normal drivability and the way it shifts now is night and day. New Age does Dyno and street tuning. That's I think what the difference really was for me. The car has never run so well.

That’s a 2.5 hour drive from me. Did you ever sell your slp 2300? Maybe I’ll bring my car out to the Chili fest if we even have it.

Yeah it's a hike to their shop, but worth the trip. I'll let you know if they host an open house or dyno day.

Yes, thankfully it sold before the pandemic really hit. Look forward to hopefully meeting up.

I have used both shops with success, and I can say each one has their pros and cons.

New Age Hotrods is worth the drive, the cost, and the time that might exceed what you "pay" at other shops, because the attention to detail you get is second to none. I know Josh pretty well, and he's not happy unless the customer is 100% satisfied with the work. It's not the biggest operation, so some times you gotta wait. And good work takes time, so you can expect to spend a little more It's worth every day, and every dollar, without a doubt! Contact me personally if you ever want more info!

Holy shit! this is the most traffic this thread has seen in a year, LOL, glad everyone is having fun modding and getting ready for warm weather (pandemic permitting) I changed all my fluids (rear diff, tranny and brake fluid) seperated the clutch and brake reservoirs and just finished buffing it.

Hey Vin, hope all is well in our good old town of Elmira. I will be changing all my fluids tomorrow. Just looking for things to do before she goes back on the dyno.
