12-09-12 Today is our 3 year anniversary
Here is my little story about how I got my "" 3 years ago today.
Three years ago today, on December 9th 2009, I got up in the morning and headed out to the city in search of a discounted, new 2009 Nissan 370Z manual, or a base 2010 Camaro 1SS M6 in the low $30k range. It was a beautiful Wednesday morning. I was not sure which direction to travel. My options were to head south 1.5 hours to Santa Rosa CA or 1 more hour to Petaluma CA. In Petaluma there was a dealer that had a few 2009 Nissan 370Zs I was interested in. My other option with more dealers to choose from was to head east 2.5 hours to Sacramento CA and southwest all the way to Vallejo CA if I still couldn't find the car I wanted. Since the 2010's had arrived, finding a remaining 2009 Nissan 370Z in my color choice wasn't going to be easy (pearl white or black). I found a couple of 2010 Camaro 1SS's in the price range I was interested in Vacaville CA when I searched online (white w/o stripes and silver with matte black stripes). I decided to head to Sacramento. The first dealer I stopped at was in Woodland CA. This is 2 hours from where I live and right before Sacramento. They didn't have what I wanted and the salesman insisted that I would't be finding any 2010 SS for under $40K. He also told me 1SS's where not available anywhere in the state at the moment, only 2SS's . I proceeded to Sacramento with a 370Z in mind (since a 2010 Camaro SS for under $40 was only in my dreams). I missed the Florin Road exit in Sacramento where the dealers were and decided to get off on Laguna Blvd a few miles down Hwy 5 in Elk Grove CA. I headed east on Laguna to Hwy 99. Once on 99 I headed south and few miles down the Hwy I saw the Maita Automall. I saw there was a Chevy dealer there. I pulled in and saw 4 Camaros parked right outside the showroom window. 1st one was a 2SS/RS A6 victory red w/ matte black rally stripes, polished wheels, and the GM grey GFX. Price $45k 2nd one was a 2SS/RS A6 rally yellow w/ matte black rally stripes, polished wheels, GM grey GFX, and the "Transformers Edition package". Price $46k 3rd one was a 1SS/RS M6 imperial blue mettalic w/o stripes and with midnight silver wheels, and no GM GFX. Price $37k 4th one was a 1LT M6 aqua blue metallic but I didn't even bother checking it out. Since I wasn't interested in financing I had a safe budget of no more than $35k total to spend on the new car. After working out a deal and getting a total of $2,500 in discounts I was able to purchase the 3rd one for only a little over my budget. By 6:30 pm 12-09-09, I started my 3 hour trip driving Midnighter home with a huge on my face. Thank you for reading my little story. Here is Midnighter the morning after I brought her home (12-10-09) |

Thanks guys. For our anniversary I am going to wash, wax her exterior, and detail her interior with some dressings to make the black plastics shine.
And then, pics ofcourse. |
