Convertible top issue? Help!?

Should the top be this loose looking? If not how do I fix it or do I need to see the dealer?

It would appear the 5th bow is broken. That is exactly how mine looked prior to getting it replaced. Should be covered under warranty. Bring it back to the dealer as soon as you can. A fairly common problem. Sorry.

what is your build date Cruuzin LV?

it's on the sticker on the inner drivers door jam..

someone here was keeping track of the build dates to see the most affected people, as there was some type of change in the top mid build for 2012.

Cruuzin -

Another suggestion - don't know how long the top has been in that condition, but with mine, it went almost a year and close to 7K before I got it fixed. In that time, the dealer said the damage was beginning to wear into the water management bag, so that got replaced along with the 5th bow. Try to minimize the cycling of the top until you can get this fixed, and make sure they closely inspect the water management bag for damage as well.

Good Luck - enjoy your car - sometimes I wish we still had ours - but it was an obsession.

It happened last night. I had a large box in the backseat so I lowered it to get it out and when I put the top back up I heard a pop noise and thought nothing of it. Then I noticed it today. Going to take it in today.

cruuzin,
after the 5th bow repair, keep an eye on the rear seat floors. If wet, you have a water management bag problem and/or drain tubes problem.

fyi-my water management bag was replaced about 2 months after my 5th bow broke.I asked that the bag be changed out when the 5th bow was being repaired but GM Canada would not approve it.And low and behold, 2 months later car was back in for the repair.

cruuzin,
good luck!!! hope all goes well...

on a positive note:a little history on mine..my 5th bow broke at about 2600 miles and now have about 7000 miles...seems the repaired 5th bow is holding up so far and the seal at the trunk is much less noticeable after the repair than how it was off the assembly line.

I don't know how you roll in Canada but we keep our seals in the zoo not in our trunk!

I'm sure it will turn out just fine.
