Sorry. Late into this conversation. I have a 2012 2SS vert. I've heard nothing of these problems nor the "recall" Is that still in effect?

Update, dealer confirmed 5th bow issue, part is $230 and they sub out to a local specialty shop for repair with unknown cost at this point. GM says they will talk to dealer but unlikely they will cover repair or even discuss cost relief on it. This is a 2011 with 18000 miles. Not looking good at this point but will keep being patient and polite until they make a final descision.

Angie11,

make sure whomever is going to be doing the work is experienced with these tops...lots of horror stories of butcher jobs.
Also, have them check the water bag as well.since yours is a 2011MY you probably still have the original water bag...the newer bag is designed differently and is less problematic.
good luck!!

Sniper good luck, they shot me down. Pretty sad they know they have a product defect and they dont stand behind It or at least share in the cost of the repair. Thanks for nothing GM. In the last 33 years I have purchased 16 GM autos.......I guess my loyalty to them was foolish

Angie, tend to agree. If something goes wrong with my 2011 top that's it, end of story. Fixing at my own cost and selling immediately, moving on to a classic - maybe time for a '70 Bonneville 455 or '71 Caprice 454, I always thought it would be fun to have one of those verts. Have lots of repair experience with late '60s and early '70s GM products.

Unless you get the BBB involved GM will blow you off, trust me they tried with me and lost. Loyalty is a thing of the past...... When push comes to shove, fight dirty!

William or Jeff can you please check to see if my early 2012 convertible is covered by the customer satisfaction program my Warranty just expired not 4 weeks ago and my 5th bow just gave out Thursday morning. 2G1FB3D34C9188941, I have an appointment with Rudolph Chevy in El Paso on Monday to start the process.

So my Warranty expired a few weeks ago, the Car is in the shop, Rudolph Chevy called GM and GM offered to pay 70% of the cost, and the dealership will cover another 10% on their own. This is the best possible outcome short of GM paying for it all. I'm happy with that. that still leaves me with a few hundred to pay, but I can't imagine the bill without the assistance, that you Rudolph and thank you GM.
