Custom Bowties

Ok, I'm just curious as to whether or not someone out there makes custom bowties? What I would like to see is a 3D bowtie with the autobot emblem cut out in the center. And then put a light behind it. There needs to be a clear cover over it to keep rain from getting in obviously.

This way when you turn on start your car, the power is on and the autobot emblem lights up. I'd like to also see it available in different colors with different color options.

Anyone know of a fabricating company that can do such a thing?

I'd like to know if the stock bowtie emblem can be disassembled. Then you could put whatever you want behind the plastic, and put it back together. My dealer was unable to find a way to do this, which is why they painted the outside of the plastic... but I think it would look even better to just have the inner gold part painted

The bowties can come apart, the back of the clear inner piece is ridged, and painted with a reflective gold paint, causing the cool design, reflection look.
I tried removing the gold paint, and painting it black, and the design was lost due to the non reflective paint, making it look no better than painting the outside, which is what I ended up doing.
I dont know if you could put a picture behind the clear part, and it look good, being ridged as it is.

hmmm interesting. that works pretty well. All I'd need is to drill a hole in the center for an LED light, and have someone build the custom bowtie plastic insert... no one still knows of a place that can do this? (the cut out autobot emblem in the center of a blacked out bowtie/bowtie insert?

I think there would be multiple licensing issues with using a chevy emblem and transformers..... You'd have to have something custom made .. but nothing production will be made like that .... too expensive.

Interesting, thanks for that! I didn't realize the gold was actually part of the clear piece... I was thinking the clear piece was on top of the gold...

Thanks for the clarification!

Has anyone tried removing the clear/gold bowtie part from the chrome housing without doing any drilling? I'd prefer to not be buying extra parts from the dealership should I screw up

The front one already has holes in it, so you dont have to drill into the back.
But the rear one does not, however, you really dont have to drill a hole, but it makes it much easier and safer if you push from the back, at the same time as you pry from the front. If you dont, it may end up ruining it. I didnt chance it.
