The Sequential Tail light issue.

My husband had purchased me the Pre-wired sequential tail lights this past christmas from WESTCOASTCAMARO.COM.

http://westcoastcamaro.com/p-424-201...harnesses.aspx

We put them in with extremely easy install! About a week later my Right turn signal is clicking really fast alarming me that my one of my bulbs are dead. We check it, put a new bulb, this fixes our issue and we go on our way... Until about 10 miles later, my right turn signal flickers again!

The right harness must be bad!

I call west coast camaro and ask them if there was some sort of guarantee from the manufacturer. They were nothing but awesome! Gave me a mailing address, sent them out and within that same week i received my new one. So we install the new one in... awesome works great!... again until about a week later. WTF!?!
My husband, not questioning the engineering of these things, thinks its something to do with the grounding in the car. He checks the resistance, resistance has the tendency to fluctuate during different temperatures, but everything seemed fine. Until he takes a closer look at the harness. (Unfortunately i did not take pictures during this discovery.)

The ground wire was smaller than the power wire AND they were too close together..... So he solders in new wires, puts in a larger ground, and wraps the contacts separately. He plugs it! A MONTH later it is STILL working with absolutely NO issues.

I think what is most upsetting is now realizing this happened TWICE ... these people are still manufacturing these crappy things. Not necessarily faulty but they seem to be unaware about fixing their own issues on a product they engineered.

Just incase this happens to anyone else that purchase them, please be aware!
When you purchase them, you might have to fix them yourself.

(FYI: The ones i purchased were purchased FROM west coast camaro, they were manufactured from someone else, this is not a rant about WWC. They actually gave me great customer service every time i called.)

ALSO.. i thought this was a awesome find. Im not sure if anyone posted about these.

I think the sequential lights on the Mustang look nicer, probably because there are three lights in total. These aren't bad though!

Have you actually seen them on a camaro?

We get compliments all the time.

Same thing happened to me. Got them replaced by the manufacturor. Funny because the failure happends after 4 to 6 days. First days are fine then they go BOOBOO twice.

Too late for me I sold mine and I hope the buyer did'nt have any issues. Was installed on his 2011 car 2 weeks ago and no bad feedback since I offered him a reimbursement if they failled.

So I have a question:

Since it does'nt happen to all Camaros, mine is a very early production (NIN no 602) and late production does'ntseem to have the problem.

OP what are the 5 last VIN digits numbers I would like to know if you car is an early or later production.

Never had an issue at all with ours. Worked from day 1. It has been almost a year.
