Radio display

I haven't seen this one anywhere else yet.
The last 2 mornings have been down in the 30's and both days after starting the car the radio display was blank. Just kind of a glowing green color.
I tried shutting it off and re starting and it was still the same thing.
After about a 5 min drive shut it off and let it sit for about 15 min start it back up and all is fine.
Dealership is checking to see if GM has any ideas.
I guess the radio just don't like cold mornings.

Not that I have seen.
We only had 2 days that was down in the 30's and it went blank both days.
It has warmed back up and everything has been fine. Now I have to wait for another cold spell to see if it happens again so I can take it in to get checked out.

31 Degress here tonight. No display on Radio.
Turned off and on. Nothing
Let is sit outside for about 1 hour.
Still Nothing.

Put it in the garage about 1 hour, where its 55 degrees.
Radio display working fine again.

If anyone finds a fix, let us know.

? Normal?
How is it normal for the radio display to be blank every time it drops down in the 30's?
It was 34 this morning and mine was blank again. So far every single morning that it has dipped down into the 30's my radio has done this. Never have a problem in 40 deg weather.
I am sure the dealer will take care of it they just want to see it doing it.
It is hard to get it to them to see when we only have 1 30 deg morning every few weeks. As soon as it is going to be cold for a few mornings in a row I will get it in for them to see and fix. After I drive it for a few miles and shut it off for 15-20 min it comes back on and works great.

Try just leaving it on and let it warm up a little

It probably is a bad solder joint. I had a Corvette that did the same thing. Remember cold causes contraction in metals and heat to expand. Something is losing contact until it warms to expand back to make contact. I found the bad solder joint in my corvette and hit it with a solder gun and it was fixed. I don't recommend you try to fix it. Dealer will end up replacing something to correct the problem. Good Luck..

my mazdaspeed would do this all the time when cold. remember the "L" in LCD display is liquid crystal and when it gets very cold it will be slow to turn on until the interior is warmed up . It was a minor annoyance but after about 5-10 minutes with the heater on all was normal again...

My camaro has the same issue, however, lines go across the screen when it gets cold.. around 40 and under. I have to warm up the car for 15 mins then turn off the car and back on again for it to work. Does anyone know for a fact what is going on? GM replaced one HU and this new one does exactly the same.
