I dont daily drive my car. I dismount and clean the wheels real good after a track weekend. Lots of rubber chunks inside the wheels. In between that I will use a soaked rag with rinse less car wash and clean them that way from time to time.

The last time I washed my old 1SS 1LE I even drove it around the neighborhood to dry the brakes and the pads still stuck to the rotors and left a really bad rust impression that never went away. Yes it was the first time this happened but I was shocked and decided to keep the brakes dry from now on.

I can totally see doing a big in depth cleaning after a track event.

That's interesting that that rust impression never went away. Did it ever see any hard braking after that? Seems that would shred it right off...

I traded the car with roughly 300 miles on it after and you could still see the rust marks. It only had street miles on it. Didn't track it. I imagine with time it would go away and as mentioned I have never had one rust that bad before.
