No, it was driving and shifting perfectly normal. It was used all year round for the first five years of its life - now it is finally a week end cruiser. It has 61,000 miles. I thought after seven years it would be a good idea to check the trans fluid. Now I can flush the system out and put all fresh in without having to do the funky factory procedure.

I installed the dipstick when I did my stall converter. So much nicer than filling under car.

I put mine in a couple weeks ago. I really like it. Thanks. I did notch out the bracket on the dipstick to give a little more clearance for the start wire, it made installation much easier for me.

That is because you are the only ones offering a nearly perfect OEM-like solution. There was a definite need in the market for this, as the only other solutions were the ones with the flexible tubes. This is exactly like it should have come from the factory.

Hey Ted, question again!

I just had a shop put in a new torque converter and I got the car home and warmed up and checked the fluid on the dipstick and it didn't show anything, bone dry. I called the shop and they said they had double checked the fluid level (i assume by checking via the pan/bolt method) and said it was good, but alas that did not appear to be the case.

I went ahead and put 3/4 quart in and let it sit for a day and then checked it again the following day and still nothing on the dipstick. I put another quart in but haven't checked it since then.

When I check it next I hope to see fluid on the dipstick, but if there isn't, is it really possible I could still be low after adding 1 3/4th quarts? I"m really afraid I"m going to add too much.
