MRCHRISLS3 ..... I will state again the cold start stumble was from day 1. The dealer told him put about 500 miles on it and it should clear up. It hasn't. He read about the oil coking issues and installed a catch can. Elite brand or otherwise, they would have rejected any catch can. He has since removed it and will head back to another dealer next week to see what they say.
Has anyone verified whether or not his car is branded with a "warranty block"? I can tell you if you PM me his last 8 of the VIN.

Can you define 'warranty block', for those who don't know the specifics.

You would think a 49 year old man would already know something about warranties...

Look on the bright side... he can go crazy with modifying his car now. No more second guessing if it will void the warranty.

I wondered about this as well. Warranty wise I would un-install any item that I thought could have triggered the issue. This is one reason why I have shied away from catch cans at this point. Does GM warrant any catch cans for our cars?

^^^^^^Not yet thank god. I have to keep track of what was the last thread on the last page I've read. Lol. Btw, thank my lucky stars I've got a great dealer I deal with. Never once have they question my mods. Example, total exhaust from cat back changed due to the stuffing from muffler coming from exhaust pipe, did I mention, catch can, injectors, oh Cam, and throttle body, etc and car still only has 5600 miles on it. Lucky? Maybe me. Or I've got a great dealer who wants my business. Just saying. Btw I'd tell that dealership straight up, you'll NEVER SEE ME BUY ANOTHER CAR HERE AGAIN......

Its flagged by GM as not warrantable by information given from the dealership that serviced the vehicle at the time of the complaint.

WOW!!!That's really f8cked up...It's this sort of thing that makes you want to go back with a choppa...Somebody at that dealership would have to answer to me...I've found that the service department will make errors and try to cover them, the higher up the chain you go you generally can get those errors corrected and those impotent service managers put back in their place...GL...

You're right, the brand is irrelevant. I get that the stumble was from day 1. The problem is that now, with a modified PCV, they may not be able to do a true GM warranty spec diagnosis. He really should've waited until he could get that taken care of first. I do agree though that the dealer blocking the warranty permanently is a really d!ckhead move. Hopefully they didn't.

Let me clarify!!! All I did was answer his question. I have not gotten the VIN yet to verify it's status. Lol

How do you check the status of the warranty with the VIN if it has been blocked? Is there an online checker or something?

You run the VIN in the computer and it comes back with the entire powertrain warranty showing blocked, at least mine does

So I guess the question is what is the website? Or is it only at dealers?
