Halltech/CAI/ADM
Guys, for the life of me, I can't make a decision.
I want performance with looks. To each his own, but I just can't decide. Car is stock, and probably only getting exhaust in future. Maybe mufflers of 'back' system.. Choices are: ADM // CAI // Halltech // and possibly a normal K&N.. To me, the Halltech looks the way an intake should look, but does it have the performance? From what I read it does... But I also like the covered boxes around the filter.. They're all pretty much the same price - k&n is almost half OK... Go for it.. Advice? Yup just another intake thread. |

I have had mine a while and works well. It seals to the hood and no gaps.I noticed the usual seat of the pants increase, which isnt much as it allegedly puts out 14 hp and 10-12 of torque.Paid 300 so less then CAI. I added the scoop and that helps a bit to get cool air in and unblocks the air path. The A/F keeps it close to the stock values, not lean or rich. It along with shorty headers, catback and hiflows combined didnt upset the A/F, though I tuned it as the curve was up and down all over the place, but in parameters. It made of plastick so no heat soak, though isnt as nice looking as others, I painted mine to match so looks good imo.

They're all good systems. I personally have the CAI but the adm looks great and was a close second!i feel the closed air box makes more sense.

ADM for looks and performance gets my vote! Then CAI inc, the Haltech! K&N should be one of your last choices unless you get it for free!

Obviously i'm partial to the Halltech. It may not be the prettiest but it just plain works and works well. At the time, it was one of the few intakes to be all one piece, made of composite material, and incorporate a HUGE velocity ring. All of which aid in keeping the heat out and produce smooth laminar air flow. Since then, a few others have gone one piece and have added some sort of velocity ring.
If I couldn't have my halltech, i'd probably get the LSR. It's not a looker either but it can be easily converted from tune to non tune. It also has a HUGE velocity stack as well.
