Created my Own Hood....T3 & HEX Vents

Introducing the "TRC Hood"...haha

Well to start off i have the Revolutions Hood Tilt kit on my 2011 SS. Needless to say i have only 2 options that work with this kit....Stock hood, or Revolutions hood (which last i checked was having issues with the reverse mold kit).

So this led to to attempt and design my "own" hood.

So basically what i did was got the T-3 Hood scoops put them in the front of the Hood, had them painted to match and then got the Hex vent kit and centered them in the middle.....And couldnt be any happier!!!

(FYI.....Did the front bumper myself also over the winter)

Here are some photos from start to finish....ENJOY
(some photos i could not rotate.....sorry)

That looks great! You've got some skills! I would never have the guts to do something like that on my own! One question, where does the water go?

Good Question......Both hood vents come with optional Water trays.

This is the water deflector for the T3 Vents, water goes in and flow towards the front of the car away from all wiring and motor.

The Hex vent system has a similar tray...i did not even take it out of the bag yet so no pic but heres one from someone elses car.

Water enters this tray and flows out a drip hole in the back of the tray. Water will only enter these trays at a stand still, when driving its flows right over the hood.

I NEVER drive my car in the rain so i did not install these on my car. But might every now and then to wash it. Quick installs on both, 2 bolts on T3 4 bolts on Hex

Excellent job! I'm glad someone did this. Now I know I wanna do this with my hood. I hope someone will do the T3 hood ports with NS-1 stripes. Then I'll know 100% I want this mod

That looks great TRC-SS, I couldn't imagine myself doing such a thing unless I had an extra hood to fall on. Lol. But I do wonder what rotary tip did you use on your hood?

Looks great but question is with all the support you cut out, how flimsy is the hood? Looks like the vents are epoxy'd in place, I would have guesed they would be welded.
