could this be just 2010 issue? I changed my oil at 1000 miles using mobil 1 full synthetic oil. I recently changed my oil again at 5500 miles. (4500 mile oil life). thats because I floor it (push the peddle to the metal) at least 3 times a day. (drive it 5 days a week). when I changed my oil I had 5 and 1/4 quarts out of the engine.

I'm sitting at close to 24,000 miles now and reports like this frighten me.

Wow i'm sure glad they are fixing it for you. I'm at around 35k miles on mine and haven't had problems yet *knocks on wood*. So when they say replacement is an option are they talking about replacing the engine or the whole car?

glad they are fixing her but this definitly sucks. Hope the rebuild goes well.
This is exactly what scared my away from the FI craze I was going through, dont want to dump 6-8k and have a factory defect blow my life away. And I agree, this car is a little too fragile
