Jim from Optic Armor emailed me and said the 3/16 front glass and 1/8 rear glass together saves 40 lbs over stock. Taking 1/16 off the rear window can't possibly remove 16 lbs so I'm thinking your scale isn't giving accurate info.

Trunk Redo Part 3

Worked on getting the filler panel cut out, shaped and fitted.



I am really liking how this is looking. Still need to clean up all the seam sealer.









Here is the logo we are going to bead roll into the center of the panel. I think it will look killer!

So I'm looking at the pic of the new large center opening and it brings to mind a couple of things...

Center outlet exhaust would be a natural

And an old Smoky Yunick nascar trick from 50 years ago... Create a venturi shape for airflow under the truck floor pan with some vertical walls. Place the exhaust tip exits at the lowest pressure point in this venturi. Get free boost of 1 to 2 psi as the low pressure sucks out the exhaust.

Just random thoughts here. In no way is this a suggestion to give you any ideas. HA-HA !!!

The work continues on the trunk. I did some hammer/dollying and shrinking of the channel were the battery cable ran, creating a flange so that we can rivet the filler panel and make it look more finished.

and finally cooling to shrink it. This work had a very therapeutic effect! Sorry forgot to take pictures of the finished product but came out really nice.

And not sure how much time I have spent doing this stuff but I am done Looks ten times better.

I was thinking the same thing. but with all the seam sealer we removed probably closer to .5lb LOL

OK guys, we have a question for you all. We are currently in the planning phase for installing a 6 pt roll cage. Now with racing seats, a 5 pt harness, and a roll cage, I think most of us will agree that airbags are no longer needed.

Does anyone know if there is a way to set a relay or something so that we don't get the airbag light popping on?

Also, does anyone know if removing the seat belts will throw a light?
