Best Vinyl Rear Blackout

Can someone recommend a good quality vinyl rear blackout kit that fits the tail panel area between the taillights?

I know I would not reccomend RPIdesigns. The fit was not good at all and when I e-mailed them about my dissatisfaction I got zero response.

I purchased a magnetic one from a vendor on e-bay. It has some advantages (great fit, removeable if I ever get tired of it, 30 second install) and disadvantages (best to remove whenever I wash car and always apply a coat of wax before reinstalling).

Hey Rider. Do the Bowtie cut outs show the vehicle paint color around the emblem?
How much for members?

Be careful of those magnetic ones.. if you leave it on too long it will react with the paint and it will leave the paint is bad shape.. go find a car with some of those magnetic ribbons on them that have faded, pull it back, I bet the paint under is ruined...

The instructions with it said this could be a problem so to always keep a good coat of wax underneath and not to let moisture build up behind it. I do plan on keeping an eye on this and if it shows signs of this I will discontinue using it. Ultimately I hope to just have it painted flat black.

Thanks. I must say that the blackout between the taillights looks great on the rally yellow wheather it's magnetic, vinyl, or paint (as long as the fit is good).

I can answer this. SOME of the paint will show around, but it's pretty much unavoidable. If you don't want any paint to show through, take off the bowtie, install the blackout, then put the bowtie back. Removing the bowtie is a pain, but not too hard.

I'm going to have my car painted between the tail lights when I have my hood spears painted. I think painting is the way to go.

You can order either style with or without the bowtie already cutout. The one with the Bowtie cutout, Will show a small border of color around the bowtie.

If you want no color showing, you will need to order the one without the bowtie cutout, remove your bowtie, Install the blackout and re-apply the Bowtie.

The link I posted is the member discounted price....

Does the Bowtie come unbolted or is it held on with adhesive?

Two sided emblem tape..but there are two alignment pins that go into two matching holes in the panel..

I'm thinking about ordering from the ridergraphix.

If I dislike it can I always take it off? or once its on, its pretty much on?

I'll probably be getting the one without the chevy bowtie cutout.. just so I know there isn't any color around the emblem, plus i ordered the bowtie blackouts from rpidesigns.. so I will probably have to take off the bowtie anyway
