We did a road trip just after buying our used 2014 SS last summer. I bought a spare and a jack to give me peace of mind. THEN, I realized that with a spare in the trunk you can’t drop the convertible top. Guess I should have done a little more research up front! We were headed to Florida, so no open top was not an option and the spare ended up staying home.

I guess I’m either too old or getting more chicken 💩 but there is NO way I’d drive across the western U.S. with a tire plug kit as my “spare.” Hell, if the hole is on the rear tire, won’t you have to take the tire off to plug it anyway?

I’ve done that drive a couple of time and unless things have changed you can drive miles between towns, let alone ones that have 24 hour tow service. Why not travel a little lighter and carry a mini spare instead of hoping someone will be able to rescue you because you got a simple flat tire and didn’t have a spare? Just doesn’t make sense to me but whatever.

You can't carry a spare on a motorcycle, and I've done cross country travels on a bike several times... think outside of the cage, err, box.

Sometimes you just can't compromise on somethings... I need a signal when I need a signal.

I used this one, and found it useless for the angled hole I was presented with.
