No, I went from old DOT3 fluid, worn out rotors, auto zone rear pads and melted Wilwood front pads to Redline RL600, stoptech braided lines, centric high carbon rotors, and ST43’s. Sam Strano was actually at the track the night I lost my brakes so I just ordered everything from him since he saw it all happen lol

I'm super jealous. I've got to get out there. I've had the car 2 years and have yet to take to the track. I'm dying to get out there. I use to race motocross and am Jonesing to rip the shit out of this car where I can't get arrested for what I'm doing.

Wow! You’re in for a real treat, one you won’t soon forget. Make sure you swap out the dot3 and replace with a “racing” brake fluid at minimum. Do a clutch bleed also. If they are still good, your factory rotors and pads should be good for your first time out. Also, download the TrackAddict phone app and record your sessions, especially the first one. Also, remove the hood vent drip tray and don’t apply your parking brake after your sessions. Keep an eye on your rear view mirror and wave by when it’s safe to do so. I used to do motorcycle track days and this is a bit more fun and more forgiving if you make a mistake. Above all, have a blast!

God that looks like so much fun. To bad Missouri doesn't have much of anything for road courses.

Went to the “other” track this past weekend. Only went 12.5 @ 117 (2.1 60’; 1500’DA). It was the first time I’ve had this car to the drag strip; the place was packed so I only got three runs in. Definitely have to get my 60’ down, but the mph is there. Not bad for only having catted long tubes, Rotofab, BTR stage 4 cam and a tune. Still running through stock 2.5” NPP. Plan to change some things over the winter. As much as im enjoying the road course, drag racing was my first true motorsport love

What drag strip did you go to? Norwalk/ Summit here in OH just tossed the whole season in the can in early Spring and my other local drag strip where we autocross (Dragway 42) only holds open events on Thursdays/ Fridays which are bad for me and the wife work-wise.
I love autocross and road courses, but I really miss the drag strip this season! |
