My suggestion if we are talking alternatives would be the trunk. Given how tiny the opening is, I wish the trunk lid did not flare out like it did. I wish the lines/seam went from the rear window straight back to the tail lights. Imagine how nice those quarter panels would have looked with out the angled seam from the trunk. Then they could have put on a proper 3 piece spoiler. Maybe someone with proper photoshop skills could whip something together.

The GFX do not hide the jerry cans. Ask me how I know...

Really? I thought they hid them a little better by the pictures. My mistake.

Oh, I don't really like it either. I love the 5th gen in pretty much every respect. I just think it fits the lines of the rear better than the other implementation of the '69 tail lights.

I don't think they are a pleasing or interesting shape, they don't say Camaro, the chrome is totally out of place (would you stand for a chrome grill?) and they don't even go with the rest of the car and nobody would listen. (you think it's frustrating being on the outside of GM; try being on the inside) I've almost gotten used to them now though and I think they look OK if you take off the chrome rings.

P.S. The RS doesn't have darker lenses.... they are clear on both cars. The RS has the inner housing painted black so it doesn't reflect red everywhere. And they're not LED but I guess they look more like it because of the contrast.

I understand the idea of trying to mimic the styling of the front of the car for continuity but it just looks kind of odd to me to see both lenses doing this instead of just the outside lens. I think it might have looked better had the gap between the lenses been a straight vertical rectangle shape. In fact had the entire tail light bumper cut-out gone completely across with no part of the bumper in the middle it would have looked cleaner; much more like the front. Then a single-piece tail light lens could have been designed which would have been more in keeping with the heritage styling of the 67-69 Camaros, albeit styled after the new front with the swept-up corner.

The chrome I'm mixed on. I don't hate chrome but since it isn't really used anywhere else on the car it seems a bit odd here. It doesn't look necessarily bad, just inconsistent. Had the window frames also been chrome, or maybe the single horizontal bar in the center of the front grille been chrome, then it would make sense to have the tail lights rimmed in chrome.

But these are just nit-picking details; it's still a gorgeous car.

The first pic is of a non-RS SS (silver SS badge)
The second is of a RS SS (red SS badging)

RS is just an appearence package available for the SS (v8's) and the LS/LT's (v6's)
LS/LT's get the RED RS bagdges but SS keep the SS (but red for the RS)

If you haven't seen it already, check this out: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33894 That lil mod definitely hides the mufflers very nicely!

I think the lights look great. Just like the 70 and the 71/72 chevells, I liked the 71/72s quad round better than the 70s square lights in the bumper

Nominated for post of the day... should (didn't say it WOULD) remind people that new designs will have detractors at first, simply not liking because it's not familiar.

My opinion, since everybody wants to know: I like the new ones. I like mine, too... but the new ones are way gnarly, Bro!

Haha, it seems a lot of people wanted the taillights to be what they turned out being on the 2014s.... they got their wishes--four years later.
