GM Recalls ALL Camaro's from 2010 to 2014!
I heard about this when I met some guys from the base today. I've had a look and ABC news seems to explain it in the most straight forward way.
Basically it's an easy fix, they are going to change the incorporated key and fob to a separate key and fob to prevent your knee from accidentally turning the car off and causing an accident. Not sure what we do if we imported the car rather than bought it from a UK dealer though?? http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireS...oblem-24122635 |

Aren't the Americans responding to a very small risk though?
Surely getting your knee up where the ignition switch is fairly difficult for average sized drivers. I have a very laid back driving position, so don't really think I'll be affected... when the car eventually gets here |

I'd give that a skip too. At 5' 8.5" and a driving position way back my knee never gets near the key (in either vertical or horizontal plane) and don't want something else to lose or be dangling off my key !!

It looks like 85% of the Camaro population agree with you. I'm 6'4" so potentially have a greater risk but my knee's never touched the key so I can't be bothered to get it done either.

I asked the dealer on Friday about the recall, and they said that GM hasn't told them exactly what to do yet. So I just got my oil changed and didn't worry about it since my ignition key is separate from the rest of my keys and I've never hit it.

I asked GM USA.
They said contact GM UK. Been there before, no good to me. So, I thought there was no GM Camaro UK/EU Sales anymore, or GM UK official Camaro 'Dealers' too ?! Is there a UK list ? |
