Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car Event at Auto Club Speedway 10/10 & 10/11
Ddunerider and I will be participating in the USCA Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car at Auto Club Speedway on October 10th and 11th, 2015.
The event has Autocross, Speed Stop, Inside Road Course, Design & Road Rally with the Holley Welcome Party Saturday night. It is a fun event, lots of track time. They have a discount for 1st timers, 1/2 off if you enter First in the Promo code line. Here is the link if you want to check out the event website... http://driveusca.com/events/auto-club-speedway-2015/ Special note for the So Cal Race Team/Mayhem, this event will sell out as last event of the series, it is double points, which means the last stop for people trying to get into the Invitational in November by season points. This event will pit you against some of the fastest drivers in the country, who are competing for the National Points Championship in every class, as improbable for them to win without competing in this double points event...if you want to test how badass a driver you are, this is the event...so sign up soon to ensure you have a place in the race...Hope to see a good showing of our crew at this one.... For Road Course, make sure you read the rules regarding Safety Equipment, Novice requires the least, but there is no passing on the road course for novices. Run groups will be designated as follows: ● Run group A - Expert – Guidelines - have attended and graduated an advanced course at an accredited driving school, 10-12 track days per year, familiar with competitive track flags, etiquette, rules and “racing line”, may have a sanctioned competitive license, and/or competed in wheel-to-wheel racing events ● Passing will be allowed in designated areas – specific event/track rules will apply and be communicated during event specific drivers meeting ● Safety Equipment required for Run Group A ○ Helmet – SA2010 ○ Neck restraint – Hans style, or SFI certified neck collar ○ Properly mounted 5 point harness or better ○ SFI 3.2A/1 rated single layer fire suit or better ○ Nomex fire retardant gloves ○ Full coverage leather shoes ○ All entrants in the expert class must have tires with a manufacturer date within five (5) years of the date of the OSUSC event Copyright© 2013 - 2015 by the Ultimate Street Car Association, LLC. being entered. Here’s how to check the date: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=11 ● Run group B - Intermediate – Guidelines - may have recently attended or graduated a basic course at an accredited driving school, 3-4 track days per year, familiar with basic track flags, etiquette, rules and “racing line”, multiple sessions with certified performance driving instructor ● Passing may be allowed via point-by only on designated portions of track – specific event/track rules will apply and be communicated during event specific drivers meeting ● Safety Equipment required for Run Group B ○ Helmet – SA2010 ○ Neck restraint – Hans style, or SFI certified neck collar ○ Minimum - factory or better 3 point safety belts ○ SFI 3.2A/1 rated single layer fire suit or better ○ Nomex fire retardant gloves ○ Full coverage leather shoes ○ All entrants in the intermediate class must have tires with a manufacturer date within five (5) years of the date of the OSUSC event being entered. Here’s how to check the date: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=11 ● Run group C - Novice – Guidelines - minimal performance driving instruction, less than 3 track days annually, driving only for fun & education, desires more instruction to be able to understand and enjoy performance driving ● Lead/follow laps only - passing will not be allowed on any portion of the track – individual event/track rules will apply and will be communicated during event specific drivers meeting. This is a non-competitive run group with limited and monitored speed. ● Safety Equipment required for Run Group C ○ Helmet – SA2010 ○ Neck restraint – Hans style, or SFI certified neck collar ○ Minimum - factory or better 3 point safety belts ○ Cotton or fire retardant long sleeves ○ Cotton or fire retardant long pants ○ Fire retardant or leather gloves ○ Full coverage leather shoes Those registered so far Comm17 Comm54 Ddunerider Demon1LE Slickrichic SoCalCamaro urr2slo Ryan T. 6Dean9 cterry Jordan Priestly/JDP Motorsports

Thanks Pete, nice hanging out with you in Charlotte. Good luck with the Road America event, I gave Bill some insight on how that one works...Autocross there should really suit him better, given they run on that go kart track that is like a mini road course.

Your coaching for Bill was great! He is learning fast how to be fast. As the RC track was fading late in the day, Bill kept getting faster putting down his fastest lap in his lat session. It was very cool to see.

Thanks, he will figure out the autocross soon...LOL Bill did kick butt in the last session, passed the Mustang that was faster earlier. When we're at LS Fest, he will be able to ride with me and I can ride with him to help with autox and speed stop...see you SOON...
