Old ZL1 owners
A friend is always busting on me saying only old guys can afford to drive ZL1's (not true) so he changed this Corvette funny to a ZL1 (#13) funny to goof around. I thought it was funny so I thought I'd share it then take a nap :-)
25 Ways to Tell a ZL1 Owner 1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can’t smoke any of them. 2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question. 3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge. 4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. 5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator. 6. You watch the Weather Channel. 7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of “hook up” and “break up.” 8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. 9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as “dressed up.” 10. You’re the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won’t turn down the stereo. 11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you. 12. You don’t know what time Taco Bell closes anymore. 13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up. 14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald’s leftovers. 15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt. 16. You take naps. 17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one. 18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach. 19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests. 20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer “pretty good shit.” 21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time. 22. “I just can’t drink the way I used to” replaces “I’m never going to drink that much again.” 23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work. 24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar. 25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking “oh shit what the heck happened?”

My very first car was a '79 Z28 that I bought for $2700 in 1987 as a rising Senior in high school. The car was mildly built and a beast on the street back then. I bought it with earnings from my first job bagging groceries and stocking shelves for minimum wage in a local family owned grocery store. I wish every day I still had that car. I went through the years of family, 4 kids, 25 years of marriage and counting, Japanese gas sippers, minivans, you name it. So, I say from humble beginnings many of us old guys have come a long way to get to the ZL1. Congrats my friends...

The wife and I are 32 y/o and both can relate to almost all 25 of them
Our first house was purchased in our early 20's, not because we came from money, but because we worked hard and knew how to budget.

Yep... I can't argue with that list. But still not giving my ZL1 to any of you sound whipper-snappers!

Yep and when I see some young shit driving what he thinks is a fast car, I think to myself, "man I would stomp a hole in that piece of shit. just try it junior". Haha! Kidding.
They should add... You only race at the track and not the stop lights.

Bought mine at 41. First F-body was a 94 Z28 I bought used in 95, the '15 ZL1 is my fifth F-body. I love GM performance cars.
This one is probably my last. (Keeper) Set of DR's and ~11.70-11.80s at 119mph otherwise stock with full warranty is plenty fast for me. |

I can relate to all of those and probably a lot of others also but my first Camaro was a '69 SS/RS 396ci which I bought in 1969 when I was much younger. I bought it from Chevrolet And picked it up at the Chevy Engineering building (now called the Alternative Energy Center - times do change). I saw my current ZL1 3 years ago this week being built in Oshawa. So I have been very lucky to be able to have fast and very fun cars all my life.

26. You eat cereal in the morning not for the sugar, but for the fiber.
27 You watch the Barret-Jackson & Meceum auctions rather than sports. |
